I certainly agree with the above writer. In addition to acupuncture, exercise such as Qigong is vital to maintaining back health. Any exercise is better that "taking it easy." The stiffness that I feel after a night's sleep has been my clue that I need to move, move, move.

Hi J Bee,

Well, there are many things to do- around food follow the recipe for the nishimi stew on my site. wwww.susankriegerhealth.com and unless you have a particular condition which omits it use ginger in your cooking as well as incorporating buckwheat or kasha as grains either for breakfast as a porridge or as a drier grain for lunch or dinner-kasha is known and it works to warm the blook and body very well as does ginger. You could also practice some qi-gong for circulation and do a good body scrub in the am with your shower. so much to say and these are some brief guides for you. If you ever wish a phone consultation you can please call me at 212-242-4217 in NYC and we can discuss that possibility.

Thank you so much for your feedback and I hope this has helped a bit --be warm in body and mind. We all need this.

This is valuable information presented in a clear, concise manner. Living in a very cold climate with long winters, however, I would appreciate knowing about methods of preserving that promote health and well-being.

For 20 years I controlled my back pain with a combination of Yoga,Chiropractic,Massage etc. I was finally able to "cure" it with the daily practice of Qi Gong. It took about a year of daily practice to completely eliminate the pain, however I felt relief after only a few days.

Given the information here and in the post about kidney failure from acetaminophen, this drug does more harm than good. Unfortunately, our "quick fix" society often reaches for the bottle of aspirin in times of desperation. It is because the majority of people do not even know the dangers of this drug. If they did, would these people look for better, safer methods of treating their pain? Would they not care?
I would like to believe that most of us would care and want to heal ourselves, which means to knock out symptoms starting at the root of the problem.
Investing in alternative programs that help your body naturally heal itself is smart, safe and effective. Instead of spending money on more material items, a night out or more aspirin, save it for your health! Talk to an alternative health care provider such as an acupuncturist, herbalist or naturopath and get yourself on the right path.
